What is the Power of Re?
The prefix “RE” means to do something again—to do something more. So we created The Power of RE: a campaign to make it easy for builders like you to continuously do more good—for your clients, your community, and your bottom line—simply by partnering with Second Chance. It starts with our mission: to retrain displaced and unemployed workers; to reclaim building material and reduce environmental harm; and to renew both people and products to useful, purposeful life.
The Deconstruction Experts
Second Chance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides people, materials and the environment with a second chance. Since 2001, we’ve worked from Florida to Maine to Colorado deconstructing everything from rustic barns to marble mansions. Each year, we divert upwards of 750,000 tons of material away from landfills and create hundreds of “green collar” jobs through our deconstruction services. Add your project to the more than 2,500 homes we've already deconstructed.
Success Story: Cairn Custom Homes
For Lisa & Steve Appler of Cairn Custom Homes, referring clients to Second Chance isn’t just an act of goodwill. It’s a way to refuel their business. “Second Chance is a partner we can connect prospects to and know that they will be happy—and that we might get another sale because of it,” Steve explains. The secret to their success? Reframing clients’ perspectives on how to find the perfect lot.
